MARIMACA - AN EXCITING NEW DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The maiden mineral resource for the newly-discovered Marimaca Copper Oxide Deposit located in Region II of Chile, was announced in early 2017. The pit-constrained resource of 145,500 tonnes (320,772,600 lbs) of copper in the Measured & Indicated categories and 93,300 tonnes (218,919,000 lbs) of copper in the Inferred category*, validated Coro's decision to proceed with the acquisition of Minera Rayrock Ltda. (Rayrock), owner of the Ivan solvent extraction/electro-winning (SXEW) processing plant, which has a capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year (22,046,230 lbs) copper. Purchase of the Ivan plan presents a significant opportunity to fast track production from the Marimaca deposit with minimal capital expenditure.
NORA/BERTA OPERATIONS - GROWING COPPER PRODUCTION
Coro holds a 65% interest in SCM Berta, the company which owns the Nora plant and the Berta deposit, located in Region III of Chile. SCM Berta initiated copper production in 2016 from the newly refurbished Nora SXEW plant, acquired in 2015. During 2017, SCM Berta plans to expand the capacity of the Nora plant from 3,000 (6,613,870 lbs) to 4,800 tonnes (10,582,190 lbs) per year of copper cathode to accommodate increased copper production from the Berta deposit.
