Coro Mining Corp.





Our five-member Development Team, based in Santiago, Chile, is led by Juan Carlos Roman and has more than 100 years' combined experience. This group boasts considerable expertise with Latin American resource projects, including: Spence, Collahuasi, Mantos Blancos, Minera Michilla, Minera El Tesoro, El Teniente, San Cristobal, Los Bronces and Minera Disputada.

The team will be responsible for developing Coro's Flores and San Jorge properties.

Juan Carlos Roman
Vice President of Operations and Development


Mr. Roman is a graduate of the University of Chile (Business Engineering) and holds an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona. He has over 25 years of experience in Chile. Prior to joining Coro, Mr. Roman was Vice-President of Mining Management of Antofagasta Minerals S.A. ("Antofagasta") in Chile and was responsible for all Antofogasta's Chilean mining operations. He held a number of executive positions with Antofagasta including General Manager at both the Minera Michilla and Minera El Tesoro mines in Chile. As General Manager of Minera El Tesoro, he was responsible for development of El Tesoro from feasibility to operation.

 
Jorge Tapia
Project Director


Mr. Tapia is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Santiago, Chile, and he provides Coro with more than 25 years of international mining experience. Prior to joining Coro, Mr. Tapia was Engineering Manager for BHP Billiton's Spence SX - EW Project. He has also held a number of other executive positions (project, engineering, construction, operations) with Doña Inés de Collahuasi, El Tesoro, TVX Gold, Mantos Blancos, Minera Michilla, CADE IDEPE, Mantos de Oro, Cerro Centinela, and FAM Forder Anlagen Magdeburg.

 
Jorge Irarrázaval
Manager Engineering


Mr. Irarrazaval is a Chemical Engineering graduate of the Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile and Catholic University, Santiago, Chile (Post graduate Degree in Project Management). Mr. Irarrázaval has more than 19 years of experience in operations, supervision, development and control of process engineering for copper, gold and molybdenum projects in Chile. Before joining Coro, Mr. Irarrázaval was Technology Manager at Aker Kvaerner, managing the development of process discipline in projects including Boddington (Newmont), Caldag (BHP Billiton), San Cristobal (Apex Silver), El Teniente (Codelco) and Esperanza (Antofagasta).

 
Marcelo Cortes
Infrastructure and Environment Manager


Mr. Cortes is a graduate of Catholic University (Civil Engineering), and he holds a MBA from the University of Liverpool (Environmental Management) and a Master's degree from Catholic University (Engineering Sciences). His 20 years of experience in mining engineering include Project Engineer for Los Bronces, Minera Disputada of Las Condes, Hydraulic Discipline Lead for Minera Michilla S.A., Construction Lead for EPC Contract of the El Tesoro Mine and also Project Lead for El Tesoro expansion project.

 
Cristian Chandia
Chief Financial Officer (Chile)


Mr. Chandia is a Civil Industrial Engineering graduate from University of Bio-Bio, Concepción, Chile and also holds an MBA from the Catholic University in Santiago. Mr. Chandia has more than 10 years of mining finance experience. Prior to joining Coro, Mr. Chandia was Chief of Strategic Planning and Management Control for Antofagasta Minerals S.A. in Chile.
